CONIC

 
FPT: Adaptive fitting of a function using relatively few conic segments. Plots
arbitrary planar curves using piecewise conic functions. User provides a
parametric representation of the curve to be plotted and its derivative.
Plotting routines are provided for SunView and X-windows. (See J. Hu and T.
Pavlidis, IEEE Computer Graphics & Applications 11 (1991), p. 89).
